ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CAROLING
Thursday, December 6th – Trains will leave the front of the school at 6:00 p.m. sharp.
All parking in the back only. NO PARKING IN THE FRONT circle. The cost is $4.00 per person. Trains hold only 60 people, so spaces are limited. Sign up and pay in the front office. When paid you will receive a wristband. Only persons with a prepaid wristband will be allowed to board. The Book Fair will be open from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. before the caroling. Don’t miss out on this fun event! The trains fill up fast so be sure to stop by the office now to get your spot!
BOOK FAIR
The Book Fair opens Monday, December 3rd and runs through Friday, December 7th. A great place to buy Christmas presents! Don’t forget to shop at the Basilica Gift Shop as all proceeds come to the school.
YANKEE CANDLE AND GREENERY ITEMS
The Yankee Candles are in and can be picked up tomorrow. The Greenery is due next Tuesday.
PICTURE MAKE UP DAY
If your child was absent or needs retakes on school pictures, they will be taken on Wednesday, December 5th. Please contact Ms. Cindy.
SCHOOL FLOAT AND CHRISTMAS PARADE
Ms. Suzanne Moore has graciously volunteered to coordinate our school float once again. The float will be assembled at the school on Saturday, December 8th, at 9:00 in front of the gym. If you would like to help, please sign up in the office. We need men with tools!
BAPTISM AND FIRST COMMUNION
We know that in this mobile society that sometimes it becomes hard to get the Sacraments. Father John would like to let you know that he would be very happy to offer the Sacraments of Holy Baptism(all ages) or First Communion (2nd Grade and up) to any family who is in need of them. Call the Rectory office at 294-1018 or the school office at 294-1031.
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS AND DIRECTOR OF FAITH FORMATION TO VISIT – DECEMBER 14TH
Dr. Kim Prysbilski from the Archdiocese of Miami will be paying us a visit! If you would like to meet her, she will attending Mass on Friday, December 14th and then visit the school before meeting with teachers at the end of the day. One of her reasons for visiting is to help guide us in our upcoming School Improvement Process. I will share more information with you about the SIP as it is forthcoming.

Just a reminder that the Early Dismissal dates have changed to match up with MCPS. There is no early dismissal this Wednesday. Refer to your new calendar.

In an effort to better accommodate our students and ensure that everyone fairly contributes to the cost of operating the hot lunch program, the following policy is now in place as of Monday, November 26th, 2012.
Milk (only if you want a second milk or did not purchase a lunch) $1.00
Salad and/or fruit may be purchased (included in purchased lunch) $1.00
Any one item off the line items may be purchased for $1.00
We all enjoy the hot lunch program and appreciate the volunteer effort that goes into running the cafeteria. Special thanks for “Ms. Marie” for doing such a fine job!
