Dear Parents/Guardians,
The faculty and administration of The Basilica School of St. Mary Star of the Sea are excited for the opportunity to welcome and get to know you and your incoming elementary or middle school student. We invite you to be a part of our orientation for the 2015-2016 school year on Friday, August 21st. There are three scheduled orientations to choose from: 12:00pm, 3:30pm or 5:30pm. Orientation will begin in Sacred Heart Hall (cafeteria) and from there students and parents will report to their classroom.
Our goal during the orientation is to introduce new students and parents to The Basilica School mission, philosophy, academic offerings, extra-curricular activities, and staff. This event is designed to provide information, answer questions, ensure a smooth transition to our school, and get students excited about their future at The Basilica School.
As a reminder, a student is fully enrolled after your user account has been created and an agreement has been finalized through FACTS Management. All returning FACTS’s user accounts have already been transferred over to the 2015-2016 school year and charges applied. If your banking information has changed, please be sure to update your FACTS account. Outside of making any necessary changes to your account, there is nothing more you need to do. New families will need to have created their FACTS account prior to starting the school year. If you need assistance getting started, please contact our front office.
Finally, I would like to welcome Ms. Eileen Dolan-Heitlinger to The Basilica School’s administrative personnel. Ms. D-H has been a teacher at our school for 7 years and has faithfully served our parish and school in various capacities. I have asked her to serve as our Assistant Principal next year in addition to returning to the middle school classroom to teach two courses. Ms. D-H holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Masters of Library Science as well as state certification in English, Social Science and Media Specialist. Ms. D-H is a highly qualified educator and will be a great asset to our administrative team.
The staff and students of The Basilica School are eager to share their Mariner spirit with you and your student. The Basilica School has a proud history of ensuring students have the content knowledge, character, and academic skills to be successful in their school career and beyond.
