October is Respect Life month. I have attached here the letter from Cardinal Sean O’Malley that was shared with parents and students at the Friday mass on 10/02/2015. The Basilica School will sponsor a number of upcoming events in light of this month’s Respect Life theme. Some of those events include the New Beginning’s Baby Shower sponsored by our Kindergarten classes, the reintroduction of the Theology of Body Middle School Curriculum and the 8th grade sponsored SOS Thanksgiving Food Drive.
As you may know, each year our classes adopt a yearlong service project. These project based learning opportunities coincide with the message from Cardinal O’Malley above and our Holy Father’s most recent encyclical Laudato Si, “On Care for Our Common Home.” More information on these activities will be distributed in the coming weeks. Your student’s teacher(s) will also notify you throughout the year on opportunities to assist in their classroom project. We thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
